<p>The last T20I that Rohit and Kohli played was in Adelaide during the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal match between India and England, which India lost by ten wickets to qualify out of the competition.</p>
<p>India will not play any more bilateral Twenty20 international matches until the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States in June. Instead, the IPL results will be the primary factor used to choose the team for the ultimate shortest format.</p>
<p>India’s head coach Rahul Dravid said on the eve of the first T20I that captain Virat Kohli would miss the match for personal reasons and that Afghanistan’s top spinner Rashid Khan will not play in the series due to a back ailment.</p>
<p>In addition to Rashid, Afghanistan’s lineup for the series will include players like Mujeeb Zadran, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Naveen-Ul Haq.</p>
